Silk cape for swimsuit
In 2023, Miss Universe organization had introduced an exciting new requirement for delegates: personalized capes during the swimsuit competition. This unique twist encouraged contestants to showcase their creativity and cultural heritage. Each design should have being inspiring, representing their country, or telling a meaningful story that resonated with their journey. This addition not only highlighted individuality but also celebrated the diverse backgrounds of all participants.
National Costume
The Miss Universe National Costume competition is a celebration of culture and creativity. Through Ida’s outfit we tried to embody the essence of Norway. Inspired by the mesmerizing northern lights and the serene beauty of the fjords, this minimalistic and monochrome design reflects the "elegance through simplicity" of Norwegian style during winter. The dress captures the moonlight's sparkle over the fjords, featuring intricate of sparkling lace that resemble the breathtaking shapes of the fjords as seen from space (inspired by the “scene that was acquired by the ASTER instrument on NASA’s Terra satellite on April 17, 2002.”
With a huge focus on environmentally friendly fashion, this dress was created by redesigning a wedding gown, transforming it into a stunning piece that embodies sustainability. Innovative approach minimized waste while showcasing unique design elements. By giving a second life to the materials, we celebrated both style and eco-conscious choices.
Evening gown
The evening gown is a prestigious part of the competition that highlights grace, poise, confidence, and individual style. Contestants present their custom-designed gowns, adorned with intricate details and high-fashion elements, all while showcasing their stage presence and elegance. It's a dazzling display of creativity and artistry that captivates both judges and audience alike.
This was an elaborate project, which involved a lot of hours of planning and many more in execution. All the fabrics were meticulously selected, to create a 3D image of the mesmerizing Norwegian nature that was the theme and inspiration for the dress. Natural silk, shimmery tulle, delicate lace and embroidery, complemented with sparkling Swarovski crystals were carefully handsewn, to gracefully embrace and emphasize the beauty of this wonderful Norwegian ambassador, Ida Anette Hauan on the biggest international beauty contest, Miss Universe.
