CP (cerebral palsy) project

- for you´re kids comfort and joy -

Cerebral palsy (CP) is a group of disorders that affect a person’s ability to move and maintain balance and posture. CP is caused by abnormal brain development or damage to the developing brain that affects a person’s ability to control his or her muscles. All people with CP have problems with movement and posture.

Cerebral palsy (CP) is the most common motor disability in childhood, and children with CP and their families need support.

Meeting a mother who´s daughter has Dyskinetic Cerebral Palsy level 5 (meaning the worse level) made me want to help these kids and their family, in the way that I can: designing and producing a line of special functional clothes that could make their everyday life a little bit easier.

I am in the research phase now and I need help from parents with CP kids to gather the necessary information about their everyday struggle when it comes to clothing. That´s why I want to invite them to my studio for a chat.

Dear parents, I know how hectic your days are, but if any of you get a free hour one day, just contact me by phone or e-mail or just drop by my studio.

My research (our talk) will not just help you, but also many others in your same situation. And as a gift for your help, I will make a piece of garment for free for your CP kid (can be pants, sweater etc).

In time, based on the data I gathered I will start to produce some basic functional clothes, that will be available to be purchase here, on my website or in special stores (like health clothing store – “helseklær butikk”)

I already made a pair of pants, just for trying for that girl who is tall and extremely thin. They are made in french terry cotton fabric, which has a little stretch for more comfort. To be even more easier to put on, I inserted zippers down the leg. The zippers have been lined with a soft cotton fabric, to create a smooth feeling against the skin. They can also have big zipper pullers, for easier grasp.

Feel free to contact me if you want to hear more about this project. I am here and very happy to help you and your dear child.
